Upsolar Modules Qualify for Additional Incentives Across France35 mm-frame products certified by ICIM for expanded access to residential rooftops

PARIS – May 23, 2012 – Upsolar, a leading international provider of solar PV modules, today announced its latest step toward expanding solar energy adoption across France: all Upsolar modules featuring slim frames are now eligible for government incentives when installed on lightweight roof types with qualifying integration structures. The company earned certification from the Institute of Industrial Certification for Mechanics (ICIM) in accordance with rigorous standards set forth by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).

Following this latest assessment from ICIM, Upsolar’s slim modules qualify for incentives when mounted on shingles, flat tiles or slate roofs. Regulated by the Comité d’Evaluation de l’Intégration au Bâti (CEIAB), Upsolar’s standard modules with a frame height of 40 mm have long qualified for incentives when mounted on multiple roof materials, including Roman and interlocking tiles. However, a new solution was required to meet standards for lightweight roofing materials.

Upsolar’s slim modules have a frame height of 35mm and are available in a variety of options, including monocrystalline 72 (with 5” cells), polycrystalline 54 and polycrystalline 60. All are offered in either black or white options. When paired with the appropriate mounting structures, these modules become eligible for incentives on a greater variety of roofing materials.

Upsolar ensures the highest module quality through its vertically integrated “Excellence at Each Step” approach to manufacturing. The company’s seasoned team works to consistently optimize Upsolar’s design, manufacturing and quality control processes to guarantee maximum safety, reliability and performance for its customers around the world.

“We strive to meet as many regional standards as possible to ensure customers across the globe can access vital government incentives while benefitting from quality modules at affordable prices,” said Adrien Pellarin, Upsolar’s R&D and Compliance Manager. “Our latest certification puts Upsolar in a position to power a greater number of residences throughout France, bringing us closer to our mission to bring clean power to homes and businesses across the globe.”
